Hair Extensions
Extensions are a piece of hair added in the hair to give it length, thickness or a pop of color. There are many, many, many different ways to do extensions, and some can be quite damaging to the hair.
We offer Babe extensions. This is extremely high quality hair that adds natural looking length and thicknss with the least amount of damage. No heat, glue, or chemicals are used to add or remove the extension pieces. The hair is 100% human remy hair. This means that all the cuticles are attached the same way. The hair is radiant and has a smooth texture. You can curl, straighten, wash, and even color your hair like normal.
They are attached by feeding a small section of the natural hair, approximately 7mm by 7mm, into a bead. The extension is then added into the bead and clamped shut. This is done multiple times to the middle section of the head. They are then cut and textured to the desired length to appear as natural as possible. You should not be able to see the beads when your hair is left down and you will still be able to put your hair up in a pony tail with seeing the beads as well since a section of natural hair is left out around the perimeter of the head. You may have to pin up shorter length of your natural hair that does not reach the pony tail.
Thickness, Length, or a Pop of color
The ideal candidate for the full head is someone with a tougher scalp. If you have issues wearing a bobby pin, clips, or pony tails due to the pulling and extra weight on your hair, these may not be for you. The medium thickness of hair is also ideal for the full head. Too thick of hair means more and more pieces need to be added to simply match the thickness of your natural hair. Too thin of hair may cause the beads to be seen and the extensions to appear stringy. The shorter your natural hair, the more layers need to be cut to make them appear as natural as possible. Your own hair may also need to be textured depending on the cut of your natural hair. The extensions come in 18 inch lengths, however, no matter the length or thickness of your own hair, they will need to be cut and textured to blend properly. Talk to your stylist to see if you are an ideal candidate for a full head of extensions.
Hair extensions may also be added to thin hair to give it thickness. Once attached, the stylist cuts them to your natural length and textures them to blend them in. Extremely thin hair may cause beads to be seen and extensions appear to be stringy. Talk to your stylist to see if you're an ideal candidate for adding thickness.
You can use extensions to simply add a pop of color such as fuchsia, blue, teal, pink, black, red, purple, blonde and many more. A few pieces are added to highlight this color without any chemical damage in the natural hair. The bright fashion extensions are more vibrant and last longer than if chemically done to natural hair. Once it has faded over a few months, you can remove it and add a new bright piece in with no chemical damage to the hair. You may be an ideal candidate if you want a color change without the more permanent commitment. Talk to your stylist to see about adding a few pieces.
During the first day, you may experience soreness where the extensions are clamped in. Some describe it as the feeling as if your hair has being in a pony tail all day. The extra weight is something your head will get used to in couple of days. When going to sleep, you may feel the beads against your head. If there are a few pieces particularily bothering you, talk to your stylist about a way to re-clamp them.
Maintenance
After you leave the salon, it is very important to take good care of your extensions. Brushing and combing them so they remain untangled is key! They tend to tangle up within each strand, so pay attention when combing. When combing and brushing, use light pressure when going over the beaded area to prevent pulling. Tightly grab a large section of hair where the beads are in place and gently comb to prevent slippage.
It is important to deep condition regularly. Since the extensions are not your own hair, they can dry out. Talk to your stylist about how often you should be deep conditioning and a good product to use for this. The hair can last for many months, however, the lighter lengths tend to dry out quicker. The proper up-keep will help the hair last a long time.
In a month or so as your natural hair grows, it will be time to move them up. This appointment consists of opening each clamp, replacing the bead, and reattaching the hair closer to the scalp. At this appointment, you pay an hourly rate to adjust them.

Tips and Tricks
- It may take a few days to get used to styling your new hair. Ask your stylist for styling tips.
- Do not put conditioner right on the beads! Placing conditioner right on the beads may cause slippage. Condition your natural hair on top of the extensions, and the mid-lengths to ends where the pieces are added.
